Qualifications and core competencies:
Youth focus: Empower Girl Scouts to choose and adapt activities, learn by doing, cooperate with others, and reflect on what they’ve accomplished (as well as on current issues that involve their interests and needs) while having fun.
Personal integrity: Demonstrate dependability, honesty, and credibility.
Adaptability: Adjust, modify your own behavior, and remain flexible and tolerant in response to changing situations and environments.
Oral communication: Express ideas and facts clearly and accurately.
Foster diversity: Understand, respect, and embrace differences.
Computer skills: Access to e-mail and the Internet, plus knowledge of social media.
Additional requirements:
- Bilingual preferred (if applicable)
- Become a registered member of GSUSA
- Complete required coursework as assigned and provided by Girls Scouts of NYPENN Pathways and GSUSA.
- Special interest Troops/Groups have additional requirements related to the specialty. Depending on the specialty, leaders may be required to provide proof of experience with subject matter or equipment related to astronomy, backcountry camping/hiking, or watercraft.
Required Adult Learning: New Leader Orientation, GSUSA Girl Scouts Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Course, My First Girl Scout Year Learning Path (gsLearn)* (* Recommended, Not Required)
