CAP's Food Pantry serves on average 667 individual a month. Flexible schedules, stocking pantry shelves with incoming food, unloading food items from truck or boxes, creating and packing food baskets, assisting with mobile food pantry schedules and deliveries

CAP's Volunteer Transportation Program provides transportation to non-emergency medical appointments in Cayuga and Seneca Counties. Drivers will be reimbursed the current federal mileage rate of 72.5 cnets (door-to-door). Flexible schedules and routes. 

CAP's Food Recovery Program help recover and redistribute food to emergency food providers in Cayuga and Seneca Counties. The volunteer would assist the Food Security Coordinator with deliveries to local food pantries, loading, stacking and unloading cases of food in our warehouse, repacking donated foods for delivery and general support for the Food Security Coordinator. 

CAP Closet provides gently used small household items and clothing to Cayuga County residents in need free of charge. The program is run entirely by volunteers who receive and process donations, wash and hang clothes, set up clothes and household items for display, assist customers with clothing and household needs and have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. 

Assist with data entry for various programs, filing, organization may include answering phones

Provide support through the Diaper and Demonstration and Research Pilot Program that provides diapers monthly to low-income families. Duties may include assisting with diaper pick-up from the Diaper Bank of CNY, sorting diapers, packing diapers per individual need, helping distribute diapers and tracking.  

Assist our Domestic Violence Services staff with a variety of duties including organization, putting together shelter, hotel kits or other necessary items for distribution. Special skills also welcome to that can provide impact to those we serve in the program (can discuss further if interested). Depending on the work, may require additional background checks.  

CAP serves up to 300 families through Early Head Start/Head Start. Various opportunities inside and outside the classrooms including the Head Start Backpack Program (provides food on the weekends for families in need). Please call for more information. The program, depending on duties, may require additional background checks. 

We have a variety of opportunities to meet skill levels and interests with flexible schedule. We would welcome the opportunity to talk to you more on what you may be interested in. Other opportunities may include one-time time special event help, fundraising, event planning and community outreach. 

CAP's Mobile Food Pantry provides food to homebound individuals in Cayuga County. We are in need of drivers to help deliver food, flexible schedules and routes. 

We are in need of volunteers on Tuesday, March 24 to help pack food boxes for Head Start families. The boxes will be distributed to over 150 families as part of a Spring Break Food Giveaway and the Head Start Backpack Program. We will need people beginning at noon. Flexible schedules during the day
