Volunteer: SAG Driver for Bon Ton Roulet

The Bon Ton Roulet is a fully supported Bicycle tour through the Finger Lakes. It will be held July 21 -25, and is a major fundraiser for the Auburn YMCA - WEIU.

SAG Drivers 

Each SAG driver has a 6-hour shift each day, they will "Cruise the route "(use their own vehicle) under the direction of the SAG Director and provide help to tour participants when needed.
Transport riders when necessary, provide basic first aid (kit provided), and travel with a water supply (provided).

After-hours transportation of bicyclists may be necessary in an emergency situation or unusual circumstance.

Volunteers may be asked to perform wine pick-up duties from local wineries ( rider purchases).

Shifts begin at 6 am; the first shift drives the entire long route to check markings and identify construction areas, road closures, or other hazardous road conditions, and then SAGs back to the first rest stop.

Other SAG drivers begin at half-hour intervals, as coordinated by the SAG Director.

Please note: a cell phone is required for this position.
Valid US driver’s license. 
A four-door vehicle that already has a bicycle rack or can accommodate one. -

For this "job" you will be located in the Geneva ot Union Springs area.

Our Information tent is a central location for tour participants to find the route, service, lodging, meals, and other information related to the tour and the surrounding area.

Help set up the information tent in the afternoon and take it down the following morning.
Staff information tent until the last rider is out.
Become familiar with the site before the riders arrive so you can answer questions effectively.
Place signage as necessary.
Miscellaneous tasks as necessary to help facilitate the tour experience.

Can work either 6-8 am or 1-5pm (or both). -
