Guest Speakers: Terri and Bart Wasilenko, Co-founders of the Cayuga County Chapter of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
"Hope Starts with You"
When their son began presenting with mental health issues as a teenager, the Wasilenkos were at a loss to find appropriate, helpful, local information and resources. In response, together they co-founded NAMI Cayuga County in 2002. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. Bart and Terri are both NAMI New York State-certified facilitators and instructors, leading multiple family, friend and peer support groups across the region. Together, they'll speak about how various service providers in Cayuga County collaborate to bring hope and mental wellness to people in Central New York.
