Volunteer Cayuga User Guide

Volunteer Cayuga is a FREE resource for local nonprofits to post volunteer opportunities in Cayuga County

Register as a “Volunteer”

·         Click “Volunteer Now” button

·         Under “Needs” tab, you can search the different volunteer opportunities available.

·         Select which volunteer opportunity suits you best and click the “Respond” button. You will then be prompted to create your personal account.

·         You have the option to “Fan” an Agency. Once you do this, you will receive an email when that agency posts new volunteer opportunities and events on their page.

Register your “Organization”

·         You must first register as a “Volunteer” to create a personal account to run your organization’s page.

·         Select the “Click here to register your organization” button.

·         Enter agency information

·         Once a United Way staff member approves your agency request, you will be added as an “Agency Manager” to manage your organization’s page and add volunteer needs.  

Agency Managers can:

-Post and manage volunteer “Needs”

-Schedule volunteers for “Needs”

-Track your Agency's statistics

·         To edit content on your organization’s page, you must first log in to your personal account (you are able to have multiple “Agency Managers” for your organization’s page). On the top right-hand side of the website in the black toolbar, select your organization under the tab titled “My Agencies”.

·         To create a new volunteer need, go to the “Needs” tab, select “Add new need”.

Examples of Volunteer Opportunities to Post:

·         Board Member

·         Committee Member

·         Office Volunteer

·         Event Volunteer

·         Intern (Unpaid)

·         Remote Volunteer Opportunities
