What is Volunteer Cayuga?

·         Volunteer Cayuga is a platform that serves as a virtual hub for our community-based organizations to list volunteer opportunities and upcoming events throughout Cayuga County to connect community members; including our working, nonworking, student, and retired residents; find volunteer opportunities that fulfill their needs, interests, and philanthropic goals. 

·         Our mission is to increase the capacity for our nonprofit and community partners, and to encourage volunteerism and community engagement!

Register as a “Volunteer”

·         Click “Volunteer Now” button

·         Under “Needs” tab, you can search the different volunteer opportunities available.

·         Select which volunteer opportunity suits you best and click the “Respond” button. You will then be prompted to create your personal account.

·         You have the option to “Fan” an Agency. Once you do this, you will receive an email when that agency posts new volunteer opportunities and events on their page.

Register your “Organization”

·         You must first register as a “Volunteer” to create a personal account to run your organization’s page. Click the “Sign Up” button located in the top right corner.

·         Select the “Click here to register your organization” button (located under the “Volunteer Now” button).

·         Enter agency information.

·         Once a United Way staff member approves your agency request, you will be added as an “Agency Manager” to manage your organization’s page and add volunteer needs. 

Agency Managers can:

-Post and manage volunteer “Needs”

-Schedule volunteers for “Needs”

-Track your Agency's statistics

·         To edit content on your organization’s page, you must first log in to your personal account (you are able to have multiple “Agency Managers” for your organization’s page). Your agency should automatically pop up once you sign in.  

·         To create a new volunteer need, select the “Needs” tab and then click the “Add New Need” button.

·         To add an event for your agency, select the “Events” tab and then click the “Add New Event” button.
